Déjà vu. It’s been almost 5 years since I launched the original SadiqSamani.com. I was supposed to launch it in January 2009, but it got pushed and ended up launching in March of 2009. The launch for the current site you’re viewing had a similar target date of January 2014, but I missed by a couple of months and the launch is now official, on this day, March 11th, 2014.
Since the last launch I’ve travelled and performed all throughout the US and Canada. Over 30 cities, including Chicago, New York, LA, Toronto, Montreal, Seattle, San Francisco. I’ve also made many great friends and colleagues. If the future plays out as well as the last several years, we’re all in for an extremely fun ride!
I’ve matured a lot during that timeframe, and all the growth made me feel like a reptile that needed to shed it’s old skin, because it didn’t fit anymore. So for the last several months I’ve been working hard in my laboratory to reinvent my existence in the entertainment world. From working on a brand new stand up set to rebuilding my website and marketing plan from the ground up. Though the new stand up material won’t be showcased for another month, the new site is ready to go.
Before applying these changes I wrote down a plethora of ideas on what I wanted to accomplish. The main points that stood out were to create and deliver more content, to make the content accessible and focused, and to keep users engaged.
That’s why your eyes focus on this text and not millions of graphics distracting you. I thought about having a spruced out site with loud designs, colors and pictures splattered all over, displaying my multi-faceted personality ;-), but that would’ve taken away from all my writing and videos. I enjoy sharing my unorthodox perspective, and if you’re being distracted from reading/viewing what I created, it defeats the whole purpose.
Since I’ll be showcasing a new stand up set soon, I’ll also be releasing some of the previously unpublished material from my older set onto the interwebs for you to peruse.
I hope you enjoy the new site and keep coming back, as I intend to publish a lot of my work on here. Of course, please feel free to message me your feedback or to let me know if you have any issues. Though I’m positive that this site will have a much more successful launch than the Obamacare Health Exchange website did. Baaaaam. You saw that? I just did some comedy.
